The International Leadership Academy (ILA), the BSN’s dynamic centre for professional learning and development, are honoured and delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist for an International School Award in the International Impact category.
Held on the evening of 21 January in London, the 2019 International School Awards ceremony brought international schools together to celebrate excellence in learning, teaching, community, pastoral care, leadership and strategic initiatives at international schools.
The International Impact Award recognises initiatives by international schools around the world that have had a positive impact within their local communities. The nomination of the ILA reflects our commitment to developing the international school workforce through the collaborative design and delivery of high-quality continued professional development.
The ILA was created through an initiative to develop a not-for-profit, evidence-informed centre for professional learning and development (CPLD) for international school staff in Europe. The heart of their activity is identifying a need from international school staff that then leads to co-designing a programme. We are delighted and proud that these values were recognised by this nomination for their impact on our community in the Netherlands and across Europe.
The International Impact Award ultimately went to The British School in Tokyo, Japan for their outstanding BST 19:20 Project, an athletics initiative involving students and community members in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The BSN and ILA are honoured to be a finalist alongside such excellent initiatives from our peers.
Congratulations to all of the International School Awards 2019 winners!
