Results Achievements

The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) proudly announces the exceptional achievements of our Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Sixth Form International Baccalaureate (IB) students, who have received an excellent set of IB results.

Two Years of Hard Work Pays Off

International Baccalaureate students in the Diploma and Career-related Programmes received their results on Saturday 6 July. These results are a testament to our students’ unwavering commitment and perseverance over the two years of the IB programme.

Their well-deserved success is reflected in the pass rates across both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) – 98% and 100%, respectively.

IBDP

  • Our students' average Diploma point score in the IBDP is an impressive 36.
  • This compares favourably with the worldwide average point score of 30.32. This was surpassed by a whopping 81.36% of our students.

IBCP

  • All our IBCP students secured excellent results
  • This is an outstanding achievement as they combined their academic work with excellent service learning in the community. A highlight includes a movie screening with homemade refreshments for the school community.

Incredibly, nearly 40% of students attained 40 or more points out of a possible 45, putting them historically in the top 10% of students worldwide

Our Students Look Optimistically to the Future

Students who studied the IB have received offers from many of the world's top research universities, including University College London, Georgia Institute of Technology, Bocconi University, TU Delft and University of Edinburgh. Other students progressed to profession-focused undergraduate programmes, including at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for Production Technology and Management and Hogeschool InHolland for Aerospace Engineering. Students will be heading off to study in colleges across Northern America, Europe, the UK, Asia and the Middle East. An expected 96% of students will attain their first or second-choice university admission.

Pride in Our Students' Achievements

Patrick Heuff, Headteacher at Senior School Voorschoten, said:

''Congratulations to all of the students who received their results.

They should feel incredibly proud of what they have achieved in their IB programmes and during their time with us at The British School. I would also like to recognise the dedication, support, and guidance their families, teachers, and other staff have provided these students throughout this time.

"We will continue to support them in their next steps and look forward to hearing about their future achievements. They will be valued members of our community, now as alumni. Well done to the IB class of 2024!"

Joseph Petrykowski, IBDP Coordinator at Senior School Voorschoten, expressed his pride:

I am incredibly proud of each and every one of our students and would like to congratulate them on their success. Their hard work, dedication and perseverance have truly paid off, and the community is now celebrating your achievements.

"I would like to wish you all the best in your future endeavours – what an exciting and varied array of destinations!"
