After two years of hard work, Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) and Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Year 11 students earned an excellent set of GCSE exam results today, 22 August 2024.
SSL Students’ Perseverance Pays Off
The Year 11 students at SSL celebrated their impressive GCSE achievements today. 22% of all exams graded earned 9, and three students impressively achieved all 9s; 59% of exams were graded 7 or above; and 95% of grades were marked 4 or above. 30% of the cohort averaged 7 or above.
James Oxlade, SSL Headteacher, expressed pride in the students’ achievements.
This is a great set of results, and I’m delighted that their dedication, perseverance and commitment to their learning has paid off. As always, behind these results are many individual successes and an enviable steadfast determination displayed over the two years of preparation.
When they return as Sixth Form students, these achievements will serve as a reminder of what they are capable of and, I hope, make them feel more confident as they face future challenges. As always, they have the full support of SSL as well as their families and classmates. Congratulations to all the BSN students who received their results today!”
SSV Students’ Sustained Efforts Are Rewarded
At SSV, the Year 11 students achieved great GCSE exam marks, a well-deserved result of their persistence and resilience. 23% of exams were graded 9; 58% of all grades were 7 or above; and 96% of all exams earned a 4 or above.
Patrick Heuff, SSV Headteacher, welcomed the excellent outcomes:
Well done to all of the SSV and SSL students today on a sterling set of scores! There is a lot to be proud of, and I know beyond the impressive marks, this experience of consistently applying themselves to their studies and the months of revision in preparation to sit these exams will serve them well when they return on 2 September as Sixth Form students.
I would like to thank the staff and teachers at SSV for everything that goes into supporting students and their families through the GCSE exams and the high quality of the teaching and learning delivered. Also, we are grateful for the encouragement the families have provided these young people and their continued support of the BSN. Hearty congratulations!”
The Journey Continues in the BSN Sixth Form
Whether at Senior School Leidschenveen, where they will be offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, or at Senior School Voorschoten, where students have a choice of pathways, including the IB, A-Levels and BTEC, the BSN teachers and staff are looking forward to welcoming these students to the Sixth Form. Whatever their goals, our students will further their holistic development and find the support, challenges and opportunities to meet their individual goals.
