Art for a Cause at the 2018 Project Africa Art Auction

The Project Africa 2019 team hosted their annual Art Auction last Friday evening, raising funds for the team’s ongoing work in Kenya.

The students involved in the event organised and hosted a lovely evening of art and music for members of the BSN community at Senior School Voorschoten. In total, over 50 pieces of art were sold at auction. Four SSV students, two staff members and JSV year 5 and 6 students all donated original art work for the event.

The auction was overseen by Year 13 student and previous Project Africa team member Mateusz, who was an incredible auctioneer! During the course of the evening, students Ella, Thomas and Mateusz also treated the audience to fantastic musical performances.

Overall, students were able to raise €3,930 for Project Africa. This makes a significant contribution towards students achieving their fundraising goals for the year, which will help them carry out their work with our partner school, Ndege Primary School in Kenya. Over the next two terms, the Project Africa team will continue to raise funds, leading up to their expedition in July.
