A Strong Start to the Term for BSN Sport

The BSN teams have given excellent performances and demonstrated the determination and hard work that BSN Sport has come to be known for.

The Autumn Term has been a busy one for our BSN Sport teams, as they have travelled both near and farther afield to face other international schools in a series of excellent competitions – even in conditions when the Autumn weather was less than ideal! Here are some highlights from the action so far this term:

Football

BSN football teams have met the British School in Brussels, British School of Paris, ISH, ASH, Antwerp International School and International School of Luxembourg on the pitch so far this term.

Quick facts from BSN Football 2018/19:

• 110 players have represented the BSN football teams since September
• BSN under-18s girls team has an average age of Year 10 (14) and have won against ISH ( a Division 1 team of ISST)
• The youngest girl to play for the under-18s was 11 years old
• BSN boys under-18s won a victory over ISST Division 1 champions ISH

Coming up:

• Boys under-18s at BSB in ISST D2
• Boys under-18s (B-team) at ASH in ISST D3
• Girls under-18s at Bonn International School in ISST D3 (their first year in ISST)

Basketball

BSN Basketball teams have played a total of 16 matches all around South of Holland so far this term.

• The BSN has around 60 players training and playing in the Dutch league.
• The BSN Basketball teams include: under-16 boys, under-18 boys and under-16 girls, under-18 girls
• Both under-18 boys and girls won their matches again the Eindhoven International School last month

Coming up:

BSN Basketball will play Eindhoven  on Tuesday 9 October at SSV school. Starting at 17.00.

Hockey

The hockey teams have had 20 league matches so far this term, travelling all over the South Holland region.

Quick facts from BSN Hockey 2018/19

• The BSN has about 70 hockey players involved in training and matches.
• Our year 7 team played a match after only 4 days at senior school!
• The team played one match against BSB winning 7-0

Coming up:

BSN Hockey will play ISB and BSB on 13th October

Gymnastics 

65 gymnasts have joined the BSN Gymnastics squad after the recent trials

Coming up:

87 gymnasts will be competing Sunday 14th October @ BSN. Schools attending: Guildford High (UK), Claremont (UK) and BSB.

Swimming

77 swimmers in years 4 - 13 from across the BSN have registered to represent the school this year.

• One of the BSN swimmers is competing at National Level
• We're excited to watch some real rising talents competing this year!

Coming up:

There are a number of high profile swimming tournaments planned for this school year with swimmers competing locally and internationally, including the ISST tournament in Belgium.
