On 25 September 2022, both students and staff at The British School in The Netherlands (BSN) dusted off their running shoes once again to take part in the 46th edition of the City-Pier-City (CPC) Loop (CPC Run). A popular running event in The Hague, this year was special as it was the first in-person event in two years – the last taking place in March 2020.

Now somewhat of a BSN tradition, this iconic event takes place on the Malieveld in The Hague every year – and has done since 1975. The event is very popular amongst both runners and spectators, and attracts 35,000 visitors each year!

Over 300 students across our four campuses – Junior School Leidschenveen, Junior School Vlaskamp, Senior School Leidschenveen and Senior School Voorschoten – took part, running the 1K, 2.5K, 5K and 10K. Our youngest runners took part together with parents, who assumed the role of coach! Luckily, the usually grey and rainy September weather was nowhere to be seen on the day, which meant the perfect conditions for running – we even had some sun!

After completing their race, students (and staff) wore their well-earned medals proudly. A big well done to everyone who took part – we hope you had fun!

Thank you to the BSN staff and parents who helped to make this cross-campus event a success – an extra special thank you to BSN colleague, Catherine Durrands (Junior School Leidschenveen) for coordinating the event for our students.

We can't wait until the 2023 edition!
