The children and staff at Junior School Diamanthorst are a competitive bunch – it’s a fact!
JSD have been running JSD Mathletics Week since 2008 and over the years, students have won a number of maths trophies – including for World Maths Day, an international competition where they took on schools from around the world.
This week, children in Years 2 to 6 are competing feverishly to claim the Junior Mathletes prize. As Mrs Pogson, Mathletics Competition Leader at Diamanthorst explains: “All the children in Years 2-6 take part in the competition, with questions tailored to suit their level. I am always amazed at the enthusiasm and dedication shown by the children, who often spend hours of their own time, taking part in the competition.”
