Last Friday evening saw the whole of Year 13 celebrate their time at The BSN with their Leavers' Ball, held at Madurodam.
The evening offered the students a wonderful way to celebrate their accomplishments and enjoy a fantastic night out with their friends. The setting of Madurodam could not have been more appropriate – a wonderful backdrop of their lives in the Netherlands, and a glimpse as to how these students will stand tall and rise up to the challenges and opportunities that await them. It was also a great reminder of the child in all of us.
Parents and some Senior School staff were present at the start of the evening to wish Year 13 well and say their own goodbyes. Two students, Patrick Sheppard and Ilona Haldeman gave great speeches highlighting their time at the school and sharing an excitement for the future with their peers as they move on to the next stage of their lives.
Headteacher, James Oxlade wished the students well and encouraged them to stay in touch via the BSN Alumni Association and proposed a toast to all those families who have had a long-standing relationship with the BSN - particularly the fourteen students who joined the school in Foundation 1!
This event could not have happened without the support of the school and Family Association and the dedication of the of the Leavers’ Ball organising committee - Lisa Bates, Athena Russell, Deanne Breare, Rebecca Hix, Sallie Taylor and two students Mappie Pouleznec and Julia Perez who juggled party planning and exams with ease. Thanks also to Sarah Muirhead for her fantastic photographs.
Our best wishes to all our Year 13 Leavers and we look forward to celebrating their exam results on Thursday 6 July (IB) and Thursday 17 August (A Level) and hope they stay in touch via Facebook and the Linked In Group.
