BSN Students Achieve Strong A Level Results

Congratulations to the British School in the Netherlands class of 2018 for their excellent A Level Results!

The BSN class of 2018 received their A Level results this morning and students’ results continued to be consistently above the UK national average, with 97.9% achieving a pass (A*-E grade) and one in three grades earned by students being A* or A grades.

James Oxlade, Head Teacher of Senior School Leidschenveen commented:

“BSN students have collectively secured a strong set of results, with many individual outstanding performances, which is a testament to all of their resilience and determination.  It is wonderful to see the knowledge, skills and character traits they have developed in and outside of the classroom be applied so successfully to their academic studies.

Huge congratulations to them, and their teachers and parents who have supported them so well.  As always, the students have applied to an impressive range of universities around the world and we wish them all well with their future studies.”

BSN Class of 2018 A Level Results

• 97.9% of all grades were a pass (A*-E) (97.6% - 2018 UK Average)
• 60.49% of all grades received were either A*, A or B grade (53% - 2018 UK Average)
• 1 in 3 grades were A* or A grades (1 in 4 - 2018 UK Average)
• 44.7% of students gained A*, A or B in their 3 subjects
• The average point score for the cohort is 122, which is the same point score as achieving 3 “B” grades

Students from this cohort have received university offers/acceptances to institutions including:

• King's College London
• TU Delft
• University of Cambridge 
• University College London (UCL)
• Imperial College London
• Leiden University

Despite facing challenging changes to some A Levels in recent years, students performed excellently this year and these results exemplify their consistent hard work and dedication.
