On Friday, a few of our Year 12 students had the opportunity to participate in a mock trial as an experiential day for those students who may be interested in pursuing law upon graduation.
This opportunity to experience the dramatic surrounds of a realistic courtroom was created as part of our drive to develop student experiences in preparation for their university applications. We partnered with Joe Mason of The Lawyer Portal. The case is a real case - a physical assault of Ms. Smith, and the defendant then assaulted the arresting police officer. Students were each given a role as either judge, defendant, witness, barrister or juror. This is part of the Sixth Form programme to support Year 12 students, who have completed their exams, and are back in school preparing their university applications and thinking about their lives beyond the BSN.
