BSN Receives Special Kenyan Visit

Senior Student Leaders

The BSN had a special visit this week from Mike Nabalia, a science teacher from Ndege Secondary School in Kenya.

The Science Laboratory that the BSN community donated to Ndege School is one of best appointed and equipped in the region and he has come to the BSN (SSV and JSV) to learn the best way of integrating experiments into lessons and also learn more student centred teaching methodology.

Science in East Africa is generally theoretical based due to the lack of equipment and training so this two week period at the BSN will give Mike the necessary experience and skills in teaching Science in a practical way. We hope that as a result the results will increase for the students and that a wider range of professions will become open to them beyond those that are agrarian subsistence.

Mike is enjoying the cold weather and the different type of food and also his interactions with students from Project Africa 2016 and meeting the Team 2017 students who go to Ndege school in July.
