I strongly believe that MUN is fundamental in giving our students a voice. A voice that can make real changes that will positively impact our futures, which in this current climate could not be more essential.
Jonathan Lapinskas, BSN Model United Nations Director
The British School in The Netherlands held its 7th annual Model United Nations (BSNMUN) conference on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November.
The conference was the biggest MUN conference in the BSN's history and was attended by over 180 participants, from delegates and student officers to administrative staff and IT support. The school also welcomed students from the International School of The Hague and Gymnasium Haganum.
The event would not have been possible without the vision and dedication of the BSN MUN student leaders, who have worked tirelessly for the past few months organising the catering, logistics, Coronavirus protocols, guest speakers, committee topics and more. They did everything in their power, even amidst the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, to ensure that the conference was a huge success.
BSNMUN Director, Jonathan Lapinskas, said,
I could not be prouder of each and every one of our students who participated in this event. Watching them in their committees, speaking passionately about topics that directly affect our world, was extremely moving.
Mr Lapinskas continued,
"Their words were inspirational, which is why I strongly believe that MUN is fundamental in giving our students a voice. A voice that can make real changes that will positively impact our futures, which in this current climate could not be more essential."
