On Saturday 14 January, a 25 person squad represented the BSN at the annual SMASH (Swim Meet American School Hague) gala in Wassenaar which was held at the Sterrenbad facility. The gala was well attended with seven international schools competing in the afternoon/evening event.
There was some excellent racing on display by the BSN relay teams who managed to finish in the top 3 places in 7 of the 8 relays, with the junior boys winning their freestyle relay and the varsity girls winning both their medley and freestyle events.
There were some impressive performances by the entire team and our swimmers went on to achieve a total of 31 personal best times. Specific congratulations go to Kassidy Dawn, Eliott Savelon and Syazmin Shahasir who all finished on the podium in their individual events. Overall the BSN team achieved a pleasing 3rd place overall, finishing behind the American School in London and The American School of The Hague.
This was the final competition leading up to ISST and the squad will now work hard to earn one of the 20 places available to the team that will be competing in London in March.
