We are delighted to share that Vicki Hallatt has been appointed as interim Headteacher of Senior School Voorschoten (SSV), following a recruitment process involving the Board of Governors.
Vicki joined the BSN as Deputy Head of SSV in January 2021 and brings wide experience as a leader in international education, including nine years as Deputy Head at GEMS Wellington School Dubai (rated as an outstanding school) and before that in Luxembourg, Bermuda and the UK.
Announcing Vicki's appointment, BSN CEO, Heath Monk said:
The Governors and I were extremely impressed with Vicki’s commitment to excellence in education and her understanding of the important relationship between an international school and its families.
Get to know Vicki Hallatt
Vicki is excited to take on this new role at such a time of change and with the new ways of working in the world. Throughout her career, working to the highest standards possible has been key to her, and the teachers and students she has worked with.
The possibilities are endless for young people today, and it's their knowledge, their skills, their attributes and their opportunities which are going to see them right in the world. This is what our job is, it's to give them these opportunities.
As soon as circumstances allow, Vicki is eager to meet you all in person and get to know the parent community in the upcoming months.
I'm really keen to work with parents to create a family school where every parent is involved in their child's education and can support.
Working in Collaboration to Support the SSV Community
Vicki will work closely with Headteacher Paul Topping after the Easter break, taking the lead in establishing her new team and making plans for the next academic year. Her appointment will run until at least Easter 2022, after which we hope a permanent Headteacher will take up the role.
As a first-time Head, we will work with Vicki to put in place any additional support that she may need during the year. She is expecting a second child in the Autumn, and we will work with her to make arrangements to cover her absence during maternity leave. There is a wealth of experience within the BSN and in our wider community on which she can call and from which she can draw support.
