On Wednesday this week, the BSN Senior School Hall was transformed into a glamourous Hollywood stage for the annual charity ‘Talent Show’ where the ukulele-playing, Lim sisters - Natasha and Natania - were the well-deserved winners of the top spot and were presented with their prize by Mr Kieran Earley, the BSN’s CEO and Principal.
Those people who were lucky enough to be in the audience, saw the culmination of weeks and weeks of hard work and organisation on the part of all the students who sang, danced, performed and twisted their way through the show. The evening – which was completely run and organised by students – raised over €1,000 for The Butterfly Childcare Centre in Nepal.
Around 50 students were involved, ranging from those in Year 13 through to Year 7. Many were IB CAS students who were joined by Student Leaders, Baking Club, Showstoppers, Dance Club and many other performers – including a trio of dextrous rubix cubers. Students sold raffle tickets and refreshments, whilst others from the Media Crew took photographs to record the evening.
The audience was also lucky enough to be there to see two A level students who were dancing in front of an audience as part of their course work, so film footage of their dance was essential … the massive round of applause for their performance was a well-deserved bonus. Two Year 12 students acted as comperes – one of whom, Jasper Vallinga has only been at The BSN since January.
Special thanks to Dave Wilson and Kimberley Bosman from Multimedia, who Directed the show and most of all to Helen Kirkwood, the BSN’s CAS Coordinator who supported the students and ensured they could make it all happen!
