A new exhibition of student art opened at Antoniushove Hospital in Leidschendam at an event attended by patients, community members, hospital staff, students and parents.

The Art on view in the corridors of Antoniushove Hospital in Leidschendam has been created by 14-17 year old students from the Senior School Voorschoten.

‘We feel honoured that our students’ artwork has been selected to be viewed by the broader public in this special venue and hope that their artwork will play a humble part in the healing process for the many visitors who frequent the building. All our students feel extremely proud to be a part of this special exhibition.

‘We greatly appreciate the offer of the facilities and hope that we can contribute in a positive way to the well-being of Antoniushove’s patients, staff and other people who will view the artwork.’ Martin Steyn, Project Leader, Teacher of Art and Design.

As Richard Kamler once stated:

‘Art is our one true global language. It knows no nation, it favours no race, and it acknowledges no class. It speaks to our need to reveal, heal, and transform. It transcends our ordinary lives and lets us imagine what is possible.’
