BSN Alumni Together Again!

Alumni Event

Another successful BSN alumni reunion took place on 15-17 March 2024. Around 60 alumni, former students of the BSN from different years, predominantly the 80s and 90s, reunited in Weybridge, UK.

The setting was the gorgeous Oatlands Park Hotel, situated on a former residence of King Henry VIII. Most of the alumni were based in the UK, but a few made an extra effort to travel from further afield: the US, Australia, Israel and the Netherlands. The atmosphere was fantastic! Everyone had a great time catching up with old friends, reminiscing about their school days and meeting new people.

Getting together with BSN alumni from all over the world Is a little like meeting up with family; it doesn’t seem to matter how much time has passed or how great the distance that separates us on a daily basis – we just pick up where we left off!

- Tina, BSN Alum

The reunion began on Friday night with some alumni joining for informal drinks at the hotel bar.

Arriving alumni were quickly recognised and embraced, and warm introductions were made between different year groups. On Saturday, during the day, alumni had free time to pursue their own informal get-togethers and activities (there are plenty of museums in the area and Central London is accessible by train).

The main event was a lively drinks reception and a delicious dinner buffet on Saturday evening. The majority of guests talked and laughed late into the night.

A selection of old school magazines, specially chosen by BSN Archivist Mr Weston, provided extra amusement and prompted further memories. Some alumni stayed on at the hotel for an incredible Sunday Carvery with live Jazz (!) to close out the weekend in style.

As with past events, this reunion was organised by BSN alumnus, Simon Weinberg, with support from the BSN. Thank you, Simon, for your enthusiasm and effort to bring alumni together!

The reunion was very successful with lots of joy and happiness and lots of new people coming along, meeting up with old classmates.

As usual, people found, even talking to someone 10 years above or below them, that the shared experiences of going to the school and living in Holland broke down any barriers and led to many fun conversations. Already looking forward to the next one, which will probably be in the Netherlands in 2026!"

"It was humbling and truly heartwarming to reacquaint with my year group.

What was so evident to me was the unique bond and shared experience that only BSNers can ever completely understand.

It reemphasised the privilege we all had in being able to attend such a special place as pupils - long may this continue!"

- BSN Alum, Rich

Alumni are an important part of the BSN’s history and valued members of the BSN’s present and future communities. We are proud to have helped shape them and interested in hearing and sharing their stories. Above all, we hope to stay in touch. There is great potential for alumni, with their unique perspectives, to become, once more, involved in the school e.g., through sharing their career expertise and experience with Sixth Form students.

Join the BSN Alumni Community network to view more event photos, connect with each other, receive BSN alumni news and become a Career Support volunteer. Current BSN Sixth Form students are also encouraged to join and build their networks!
