SSV students have been busy in our Eco-Garden to ensure the habitat remains a flourishing environment for the many species that enjoy it.
One of the jobs that has to be done every year is to clean out the nesting boxes.
These are always occupied during the breeding season and after the young have flown, all the nest material of course remains behind and is full of the eggs of various parasites, especially ticks. So in preparation for the following spring (roll on!) the boxes are taken down and emptied.
Well done Eco Team!
