The book ‘The BFG’ by Roald Dahl is a literary classic. Enjoyed by millions of children (and adults) across the world, this amazing story has been brought to life for the silver screen by none other than Steven Spielberg. Imagine our delight when we discovered that JSD teacher, Susannah Whitmarsh’s niece Ruby just happens to have the starring role in this huge Hollywood blockbuster movie!
Susannah knew that JSD’s performing arts group, SHINE, would love the opportunity to get in touch with Ruby and hear about her experiences working with Steven Spielberg and making a movie. The children from SHINE wrote, filmed and collated numerous questions on video to send to Ruby and were suprised and delighted to receive a 20 minute video from Ruby answering every single question posed by the children of SHINE.
The children were absolutely starstruck and amazed to receive such a fabulous response and were grateful to Ruby for spending the time to respond to them. We wish Ruby well as she jets off to the USA for the premiere and release of her first feature film.
