Elizabeth Free will join The British School in The Netherlands in September from her current position as Head of Professional Development at Oxford University Press, a department of Oxford University. Elizabeth is an internationally recognised leader of continuing professional development and learning (CPDL) services in the UK and across the world. She also has a headship background and expertise in school growth, improvement and development, having been Head of Primary and Vice-Principal at the British School of Boston in MA, USA, Head of Preparatory School at the Manchester High School for Girls and Head of Junior Schools at Howell’s School in Cardiff.
In Elizabeth’s current role, she heads up one of the UK’s largest network of education professional CPDL services, working with over 120,000 education professionals and 13,000 schools last year. She has collaborated with leading education institutions throughout the world, most recently leading the CPD for the Singaporean maths project for the Department for Education in the UK. This involved working with National Institute of Education in Singapore, the National Centre for the Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) as well as the MC Institute. She has a significant background in British and international education, and the development of CPD for raising the quality of teaching and learning for all.
