The Food Bank in Voorschoten has expressed their gratitude to The British School in the Netherlands, the students and the BSN community for supporting families in Voorschoten for the past 7 years.

The local paper Groot Voorschoten featured a photo of students collecting food in The Atrium. The total came to 550 items of non-perishable food, as well as 450 euros from the students’ Giant Bake Sale. Mrs Kirkwood, who has been CAS Coordinator at SSV for the past 8 years said:

This year the Y12 students set a good example for younger years by bringing in products in advance of World Food Day and displaying them in The Atrium. We have had a number of other successful collections this year because these students are keen to both donate and recycle.

SSV recently collected 700 KG of clothes for the Dutch Salvation Army. Once again the combined effort of the BSN community has had a significant impact.
