Senior Student Successes

The British School in The Netherlands (BSN) is delighted to announce that this year’s Young Enterprise team – a group of nine Senior School Voorschoten (SSV) Year 10 students – took second place in the Jong Ondernemen Company Launch Pitch Battle in Rotterdam on 19 January with their pitch for their product, Wireway. Team Wireway’s innovative product pitch won them the second prize of 100 Euros!

What is Jong Ondernemen / Young Enterprise?

Jong Ondernemen, the Dutch equivalent of Young Enterprise, aims to teach young people all about the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. It allows them to utilise and practise skills essential to running a business, such as developing an effective business plan, conducting market research, promotion of their product idea and financial literacy. Students gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges that running a business can present, and it is excellent preparation for future entrepreneurship.

Store Your Wires Away With Wireway!

Many people will be familiar with the inconvenience and hassle of having lots of different cables and them getting tangled. A Learning Experience

Pragnya, a member of the Young Enterprise Team, said of the experience:

I would like to thank our school for giving me an opportunity for such a great learning experience. I had a lot of fun and I’m happy and proud we came second.

The student's parent commented:

"We are absolutely delighted that BSN Young Enterprise Team won second prize in the Pitch Battle Competition. This opportunity has given our child an exposure to skills like product and market research and presentation of the same. We thank BSN for giving her yet another real-life experience as BSN always does and we are looking forward to having “no mess, no stress” Wireway at home soon!"
