Beginners Open Morning Early Years

About 50 families with small children from the ages of 0 to 5 explored the British School in the Netherlands’ (BSN) Foundation Stage during the Beginners Open Morning on 5th -7th November.

Families were welcomed at the three Junior Schools (Diamanthorst, Leidschenveen and Vlaskamp). The programme included school tours by year 6 students and an introduction to the Foundation Stage curriculum. The young ones could play and interact.

One mother of two from the Rotterdam area said:

“I was amazed to see how quickly my girls felt at ease at the school. This certainly hasn't happened on all of the open days we've attended- they have often been reluctant to leave my side. The big smiles on their faces told me all I needed to know! I felt immediately reassured and confident that they would be happy at the BSN.”

Laying the Foundation for future learning

Foundation Stage, or Early Years, marks the first chapter of a child’s education. During these formative years, the BSN offers a carefully integrated two-year programme of learning. The curriculum is centred around seven key developmental areas, such as Personal, Social and Emotional development, Mathematics, Literacy and Understanding the World.

Together with a stimulating, secure and well-resourced learning environment, each child will develop at their personal best. This lays the essential foundations for future learning.
