We are delighted to announce that the British School in the Netherlands (BSN) has been shortlisted for the School Providing Outstanding Relocation Support Award at the Think Relocate Awards 2019. The nomination reflects the hard work of our campuses, Admissions Team, and Family Association throughout the year to ensure that every new family at the BSN is given a warm welcome.

Nominations were judged on how the Admissions Team supports new families, the range of relocation support offered by the school, and how the school goes the extra mile to help families settle in, amongst other things. The Award ceremony will take place in London on 15th May.

For over 20 years, Christine and our Admissions team have made families welcome; from their initial enquiry to their start at school. As a school with over 80 nationalities, we know that every family that joins us has different needs, and we run around 600 individual tours per year, each with a personalised service.

Our welcome events enable new families to build relationships and receive practical advice. The annual Welcome Day for new families is attended by more than 800 people. We celebrate our diverse community at our International Day, where families are invited to share their national identity through costume, food and music. We also run ad-hoc events in response to parents’ needs (for example, an event on potty training next month for families with the youngest children.)

Our volunteer-run Family Association runs coffee mornings four days a week at each campus (where parents are welcome to come and meet others), as well as uniform sales, international cultural events and sightseeing visits.
