Developing an Internationally British Curriculum

Curriculum

At the BSN it is important that our parents understand how we develop and review our curriculum.

Yesterday evening a curriculum information session was hosted at Junior School Vlaskamp (JSV) by Sue Aspinall, Headteacher and Chris Bailey, Deputy Headteacher at JSV. They provided insight into the development of our internationally British curriculum.

Mr Bailey explained that while our curriculum is British in design it is tailored for our international students. He highlighted the importance and challenges of providing our students with an unbiased and varied representation of historical characters and literature for example.

Ms Aspinall said “at the BSN we are working extremely hard to teach our students to approach uncertainty with forethought and determination as well as nurturing their curiosity and developing skills for inquiry and research”
