For seven years, 7Days, a Dutch newspaper for youngsters aged 12-18, presents the Youngster of the Year Award to talented, successful and brave youth. This year, our very own Alessandra Peters (SSV) has been nominated!
Why, you might ask? Well, at the age of 15, Alessandra started writing a blog called The Foodie Teen after she discovered she has several food intolerances. Fast forward several years and her blog is inspiring people from all over the world to cook differently. But the high point was when Penguin, one of the biggest publishing companies in the world, contacted her last year about writing a cookbook. She accepted the offer and now her cookbook is in bookstores in the Netherlands and Great Britain since April!
Alessandra is excited to be nominated but thinks everyone involved is worthy of winning. She explains: "I'm really grateful to be nominated alongside absolutely fantastic people who have all done incredible things - meeting the other nominees was a great experience. It's an honour to have been nominated and I'd be delighted to win, although I'm rooting for everyone as they're all very inspiring and passionate about what they do."
